Travel for Business of Pleasure

When we talk about travel, it usually is leisure-related.  Travellers who mix business with pleasure get to have a taste of both worlds.  There are many travel destinations spread all over the planet.  We cannot say that there is one single place that suits all purposes, whether for business or leisure.  However, there are places, especially in emerging economies that capture both business and leisure travellers.

For a taste of mystical history and ancient civilisation and culture of the Mayans, there is Yucatán in the Gulf of Mexico, known for Chicxulub Crater which, according to geologists, was formed 65 million years ago when the Earth collided with meteorites believed to have been the cause of the extinction of dinosaurs.  Despite contamination with modern civilisation conveniences such as air travel and tourist hotels with upscale amenities, the ancient culture is still evident in the Mayan language spoken by natives as universally as Spanish.  The fine hammocks made from Henequen cactus (the Yucatan “green gold”) are used by both locals and tourists as their “beds” in cheaper hotels around attractions like the underground cave system of Lol-Tun and the cenotes (fresh underwater sink-holes) spread all over the vacationland.  Because of the popularity of Yucatan as a tourist destination, it is advised to have a pre-arranged travel plan that includes safe transport around its many wonders.

Sandy beaches are a common denominator in almost all vacation destinations all over the world as in both of the tourism hot spots mentioned above but there are other types of attractions sought after by many adventure and leisure travellers.

Australia has its own share of beautiful sandy beaches but it also has inland and mountain resorts not surprisingly well-appointed with modern facilities such as decent hotels, luxury lodges, fine restaurants and wineries that blend well with the general holiday atmosphere and sporty adventure of the Yarra Valley, the Barossa Valley, the Greater Blue Mountains, the Kimberley, etc.
